About Pilot Biotechnology Endorsement
Monsanto's advanced Triple Stack Corn technologies was the first-ever approved technology to qualify you for a crop insurance premium discount.
The Pilot Biotech Yield EndorsementSM program was an innovative crop insurance product that delivers lower premium rates and acknowledges the reduced risk of benefits of Monsanto’s advanced triple stacked corn technologies and has now become part of the Pilot Biotechnology Endorsement (BE).
- Concerning Monsanto's advanced triple stack corn technology, the Pilot BE is available in MN, SD, NE, KS, MO, IA, WI, IL, IN, MI and OH. Qualifying insured non-irrigated corn for grain acres are eligible in all approved states. Qualifying insured irrigated corn for grain acres are eligible in only KS and NE.
- To be eligible for the Pilot BE utilizing only MONSANTO's advanced triple stack technology farmers must
plant, including any replanted acreage, at least 75%
of their total insured corn acreage in the unit to non-irrigated (and/or irrigated in Nebraska and Kansas)
corn for grain planted to YieldGard VT Triple®, Genuity™ VT Triple
PRO™, or YieldGard® Plus with Roundup Ready® Corn 2 Hybrids.
The
insured must also purchase a qualifying type of insurance policy (APH, CRC or RA).
*Acreage designated as high risk land does not qualify for the Pilot BE premium rate reduction and is not included when determining the 75% planting requirement. - The Pilot BE is available to be offered by all approved insurance providers.
Insurable units are not always the same as total corn acres. Most farmers have the option of dividing corn acres into multiple insurable units (basic or optional); therefore, they could take advantage of the Pilot BE on a selected portion of their total insured corn acres.
